I don't recall what year it is. Story goes there were around 250 of them made and this is the only one the owners (a funeral home) can dig up.

Would be the coolest rod but I guess if it's a one of or one of very few maybe it should just be restored. Thing was extremely solid to start with.

  2. Would't mind taking my last ride in that. I would leave it just like it is

    from the Beaulieu encyclopedia:

    "Mort (US) 1923-1926
    Mort Motor Co., Piqua, Ohio
The Mort Motor Co. was a sub-division of Meteor Motors of Piqua, Ohio, a leading manufacturer of ambulances and funeral cars. The Mort was introduced as a less expensive line to the Meteor, available at approximately $750 to $1,000 less than the senior car and received singular attention because of its name, mort being the French word for 'dead,' a curious name for a funeral car spe******t. Like Meteor, Mort made some 7-seater limousines and large sedans, primarily intended as mourners' cars. The Mort sedan was priced at $1,850 to $2,000. Power was by a 6-cylinder Continental engine."

It is traditional - in a way - Meteor eventually became part of Divco!

Thanks for the info. It does have it's original drivetrain which is going back in it. Most all of the wood interior is original and staying. Floors need a little work.
