Well, his star painter, and best machinist are gone. It makes sense to go with primer and smoothies doesn't it? It certainly does look like one of his smoothsters or boydsters or whatever the hell he calls them

I wonder if the 2 clowns in the car even know where to put the gas in. Just looks like they forgot to paint it. It needs a big dent in the fender so that it looks driven.

If you're going to bash boyd, at least be original.... and funny.

    That one hurt me...

The car has no soul... Did you expect something more/less...

In fact I bet that it sucks a little of the soul out of the cool cars at that show as it slurps by...

    Like David Byrne says...

    Same as it ever was...

Boyd probably hasn't built a car in 12-14 years. He has the grunts do it, then takes all the credit.

That photo was taken at Del Mar, probably at the Good Guys meet. If it is at GNRS this month I'll take a closer look at it...

The way you guys fawn all over him (good or bad) reminds me of a kindeeeegardner boy pulling on pigtails of lil girls they have a crush on. Just kiss him and get it over with, geez.

You know, you guys don't know shit. When you don't know what you are talking about, it is generally better to keep your mouth closed.

The guy driving it is Gil Losi, owner and founder of Variflex Skateboards and more recently Team Losi Racing, manufacturers of World Champion radio control cars.

He sure as fuck knows where to put the gas in his cars.

    That car is steel.

That is the body built by Marcel and Luc, then shipped to Australia to use as a plug for the Boydster III bodies.

Gil also owns the steel Boydster II.

And yes, it was built at Boyd's.....and yes, Gil wanted it that way.

TD1932 Thanks for setting the record straight. I also remember reading that this car was a steel 'buck' for the fiberglass mold to make more glass bodies in the future.

Like Boyd or not, you cannot argue with his notairity. He has done it his way.

Well sorry kids. It looks like a been there done that to me. Maybe because there's 'glass copies at nearly every street rod show in the nation? Gil who? Skateboards and RC cars...well whaddaya know.

My point was to clarify that it is not a 'glass car.

And that the owner/driver is not a bumbling moron as some implied in this thread.

Gil Losi is a friend of mine.

If you want to speak ill of Boyd - fine. Gil is a hell of a nice guy.
