Well, i got my comet about 3 months ago. Non-running, crap shape but very workable. Well so far i have gotten it running, mostly in primer, and even took it for a 300 foot drive. So now all i have left is to install my new gastank and fuel lines, and do my brakes- Put in new Mc, run new lines, possibly new cylinders, bleed em. So i have about what, 3 months? i think its possible i can make it. Let's hope so! btw this is kinda my first good project, since I'm 15 i got my work cut out for me!
3 months is plenty of time to get your comet ready, just dont let any sweet young thing get in the way, I have seen way too many projects get side tracked by sweet young things
Ha ha- riiiight! Well hail, I'm hoping to take my 61 Comet for the 1st drive this weekend. Thanks, Kurt
A quick warning, the gas tanks the sell as fitting '60-'63 comets, they don't actually fit the '62-'63 correctly, the filler neck is too close to the back of the car. http://members.aol.com/sircorn/f55.jpg If you look at that pic, the filler neck should be towards the back of that flat spot it is on. You can either bodge together a filler neck that kinda fits (that is what I did), or get a shop to cut that section out and braze it back in with the neck towards the back. Just wanted to warn you so you're expecting it and hopefully it doesn't slow you up as much.
15? On boy...to be 15 again and know what I know now. Whew,,,I could tak some stuff the lady's and maybe it would work this time around. Like the others said,,,3 months is plenty of time if ya stay away from the ladys. They smell awfully nice, but get in the way.
I'm curious, are you gonna use a dual-reservoir master cylinder, and drum-drum or disc-drum? Thanks, Kurt
