anyone know of any good s****yards in eastern/central MA? even southern NH? just looking for some place i can go rummage for s**** steel in. seems like a lot of these places have dried up or have been turned into "recycling centers".

  2. Don't know of any s**** yards off hand, but I usually just go to steel distributers and ask if they have any s**** piles. They usually charge me $5-$20 for a considerable amount of stock

About 10 years ago I was bicycling in westfield m*** and I was desperate (thirsty) and rolled into a garage I knew damn well was no longer in business. I walked up played stupid and the old man gave me some water out of a greasy mug. I noticed a hemi charger in the garage all dusty and I got a *****. Not for sale blah, blah,(like I had a dime anyhow lol) But he did have a bunch of boatish chrysler hemi cars he would sell. At that time I had no respect or knowledge for any hemi but a 426 so I didn't give a ****. Maybe they are still there. If you know westfield I could help you find it. Not far from a bar that is now defunct called the red onion or onion something.

also try some machine shops or bodyshops. if you are just looking for stuff to practice laying beads on you can get a good variety of s**** from these type places.

I go to MJS METALS in Townsend Ma. on Turnpike Rd. I usually take a load of old rusty s**** to get rid of, sometimes they give me money and I scrounge through their piles of steel and alluminum for some good clean sheet metal and tubing.
