the car was built and owned by ted brine's, they could never get the car to hook off the line, it smoked out past the 1/8th mile before it would hook. it always made fora good show, people thought he did it on purpose but that car was built to race no to show, all CM tubing. Last time anyone heard of the car it was on the west coast (early 90's).

  9. I love those fuel coupes...

Kiwi Kev and 32 for me... I saw the 554 coupe run at Fremont too! It was BAD ASS!

I also saw it run at Sacramento once in the late 80's early 90's... what a sight to see! I think Pure Hell and the MOB.

  15. What the hell, here's another. Not a fuel coupe but a mighty fine 34 coupe drag car. Owned and raced by Ray Cordiero of Santa Barbara it is now fully fendered and back on the street.

    those are some killer coupes!!

  19. Love this one - chop, chrome inner fenders but especially like the louvered roof insert - that small patch of louvers is very cool! Have to look at cutting a 33/34 that way if another one ever ends up in my garage!

old posts - thought I'd add a picture of my old car - we're looking for it now - been 22 yrs since I sold it to Frank Spittle from NC. He's helping me look on some other threads. Car was built as qtr mile tire smoker and it could do just that with a blown/injected 392 on nitro. 2nd photo is at Indy in 89 with Gerry Moreland's original Mooneyham & Sharp 554 car in background. That car had one my engines in it that Gerry bought from me. Thanks for any info - Ted Brine
