Earlier tonight I caught a show on the (gasp) Home and Garden TV channel,
It is called Living with ED some new reality show with Ed Begley Jr.,
Anyway most of the show he spent with Jay Leno in his garage talking about his alternitive fuel cars and such, they showed his steam stuff, electric cars and at the end Jay showed him his Bio Deisel jet car that he recently finished. Lots of cool stuff in the back ground including an old bus

Not really clear with what you mean. I know Ed is some major tree hugger that refused to drive cars at one time. Does he have a collection of his green cars or was it just Leno's collection?

Is this the idiot who has his toaster hooked up to a stationary bike? He has to pedal to make toast?

    That's Ed, not Leno.

I think Leno has it right in that having these electric/hybrid cars close to the source of energy is the way to go. I don't think Ed caught it because he was so google eyed at the old cars that ran on steam and electricity 100 years ago. Too many of these types want these cars because they'll 'save the world' but what they don't pay attention to is the fact that most of them just plug them in at home and their power comes from nasty sulfur coal burner that pollutes just as much, if not more, than the car would.

Jay said he plans to put a hydrogen generator in at the garage and follow the 'do no harm' principle. If more of the Hollywood airheads followed that, we'd be much better off on everything.

I liked the one scene where they walked past the new Chevy SS pickup truck. You KNOW that one ain't green!

Yeah. I don't know where these people think that our electricity comes from. I believe alot of them think that a powerplant is just a large on/off switch or something.

Jay's jet car was actually built in conjuction with the GM design department. It must be nice to be able to go up to one of the Big Three and say; Here's what I want.

And we'd all ask GM for jet cars. Or maybe its just me?

GM was more of a coach builder on this one. I believe Jay's shop handled a lot the mechanical stuff.
