I think that car was built by cherrydollface's husband. I saw it in some magazine on the newsstand.

I like it. Cartoon looking but cool. I cant imagine actually driving it though. The view must suck.

Looks like that frame would break with the torque that engine could pull.

Don Garlits turned 75 yesterday (January 14). I've never heard that he had a son either. And the car looks goofy.

you could not drive this car. I am sure it would make it up the street to the cruise in, but not really drive. Look at the angle of the engine tranny, and think of the driveline angles between the output shaft and the rear end. you would be replacing u joints every 50 miles!

It looks to me that it already has...

  15. Is he gonna fix the broken frame before the sale? It's a cool looking 1:1 model, but I dunno how roadworthy it would actually be. Fairground cruisin, yep. Road time, I'll pass.

Denise, I thought that trap doors underneath were for pickin' up some road kill. Possum stew, anyone?

    And they would be wrong:D

For an angle that extreme you would need a CV (constant velocity) joint.

Can somebody photoshop it so we can see what it looked like before King Kong stepped on it?

  20. Now that I put a straightedge to the crank centerline, it looks like a pretty straight shot to the differential to me. Allowing for diiferences between crank and trans centerlines and where the pinion actually is, I think it's quite possible. I don't know how much of the road you'd see past the stacks though, but I think it'd move alright now that I look at it.

Wow, whodathunk I could be wrong at first??:eek:

  21. if you look at the last few pics the rearend is just couplings to the trans. and the only brake he has is lever to push foward for his rear brakes right by the seat. i would say for very slow driving it might stop it
