Home made power hammers

    I'm exploring building a power hammer, since I can't afford a pulmax. Anyone have plans or pictures. I'm getting to damn old to hammer by hand all day!

    Welcome aboard How about telling us a little about you (cars your working on etc ). There are a lot of talented metalworkers here have you ever heard of a helve hammer? Try metalshapers.org fellow named jim bailey on there who does beautiful work. It sounds like it might be the tool for you homemade multipurpose and dirtcheap. Good luck Pool.

    There are several folks over at www.metalmeet.com that have made their own hammers of varying complexity. Here is mine which is a metalcraft kit adapted to an old shear frame.
