Just went to Meridian Miss. this morning, left at 3 a.m., 560 mile round trip, was not bad at all. This car has a great body, rocker rust out like they all have, but a good solid project. I have to get my 29 Roadster on the road first, them I'm starting on the Henry. If you have any spare parts for a J laying around, PM me, I would like to pick them up. Heres a couple of pics when I had it loaded and pulling out. Will post more pics later, Shawn

DAMN! That's one of the most solid Js I've seen to start with. 'Course I'm from Illinois and thought all cars made before '71 came from the factory with rust.

I got most of the parts, gl*** I will have to make with the exception of the rear which he had. I am going to search for a 51 Grille to put back in, the 53 I think is ugly. if you have any suggestions, lets here them.

The Yellow one was owned by my late Uncle, Tommy McCray, who went by Weekender here on the HAMB. His son owns it now, I think he goes by "Stewed" on the HAMB.

The Blue "J" was destroyed in the wreck that killed its owner. He was pulled over on the side of the road for something, and was hit from behind by an 18 wheeler. He went by "Joplin" on the HAMB.

I imagine there are still pics of both cars on here, if you Search for their owners HAMB names. The photo above was taken at the HAMB Drags, but I forget who was operating the Camera.

Weekender and Joplins cars are what inspired me to build mine...Great pic of the two side by side.

T-buk. Yours is one of the nicest examples I have seen. Most are on thier second or third set of floorboards and rocker panels..

Good luck and I expect to see it done for teh HAMB Drags this August. -Abone.

    Here's mine before and after.

Great looking car to start on. I've seen some bad*** J drag cars. Buddy of mine did a gmc 6 cyl with a backyard fuel injection system on it . My neighbor built a round track car out of one. The cl*** rule was a "stock" motor. He convinced the tech guy a Kaiser "Gold Seal" (?) motor was a J motor. Killed em down the chute, parked it in the corner. Dixie Speedway was a quarter mile track, so he did ok when he started up front. Good luck , Dale

That car looks realy good from the pictures. I looked at one a few years ago but p***ed because the fender/door line widened by about 2 1/2 inches towards the bottom. You know what they say about hind sight, I should have just spent the 800 on it...lol

Any ideas on who makes rockers for these babys ??? If I have to, I will fab a set, along with the floors. ****** tunnel is in great shape, as well as the rear of the car.
