I am running a Mopar 230 L-head inline six that is basically stock except dual Offy intake (dual Stromberg 97's), Dual headers, and an optical 12 volt system, I am going to put forged pistons in, a .280 Cam and run a blower?dual turbo setup. I have about a 7:1 compression going so I was wondering how much PSI I can safely run in her, I was going to start at 8 pounds and see from there. Thank you guys for any and all infomation/tips, its much appreciated :)

on that low of compression 10-12 should be achievable supercharger, more on a snail... ... depending on rest of the setup how it flows etc... if u run a turbo, a single would do it depending on the trim... this is where i used to shine, ahhaha building fast turbo cars..

u also never said how long you wanted it to last, haha

You might want to look at a different cam. A boosted motor won't need the duration. You can run quite a lot of boost with forged pistons. I run 12 lbs with my 292 l-6. But,to keep detonation down and not have to back off the timing, I run an alcohol injection. More than 8-10 lbs. will require an intercooler or alcohol to get the most out of the boost.I would also suggest an electronic boost retard controller. Mine makes over 100 H.P. difference over a mechanical distributor.

haha yeah, I meant a 260 ish or less, miss type ;). Good point about the forged pistons and intercooler they will be a definate must. I already have the dual headers so I was going to look into a dual setup of turbo from a 1.6-1.9 liter application, doing a ton of research along the way. What would you guys think of building the bottom end, I already run a forged crank but I want to re-stud the entire block and retrofit a newer oil pump and pan with an electric oil pump/cooler system for the turbos. Thanks for mentioning the boost controller, I am looking into an Emerald ECU for on the fly tuning, its basically a no-nonsense fuel injection ECU like megasquirt but has more Aux inputs for a Baro sensor or boost control and can run sequential injectors, still pricier than Mega at 800 bucks but it will save me some h***le... probaly not much :)
