Does anyone have some information on these engines? Does anyone sell a rebuild kit and a cam for them?
By the way. The origional "hot rod lincoln" song was a 12 cyl lincoln but since most people had never heard of a 12 cyl lincoln they changed the song to 8 cyl.
there was an edmunds intake on ebay a few weeks ago. opening bid was $5k. egge has the pistons, etc for them I think.
Alot of stuff at the lincoln-zephyr owners club site. Looks like they are serious about restoration, so be discrete. http://www.lzoc.org/cl***ifieds/partsforsale.htm John
Here's a pic of a v12 cam card I found on ebay it went for 5 or 6 six hundred but you can have a cam ground for way less. I got an edmunds intake off ebay for $350 as it was listed as "a flathead ford intake" Need more info pm me LTR Dave
my boss at work is restoring a 30's lincoln with a V!@ in it. this car is cherry. hes just doing a paint job on it, but i took a pic of the engine with my phone while i was helping take the car apart. sorry about the quality, i need a new phone.
I believe that egge sells parts for them,if not im sure they can tell you where you can get parts,go get a hemmings motor news book, they have everything in it,its like a bible for cars guys. Jamie of Dead City
Try www.austinrodshop.com if you need aluminum heads and an intake for a V12. They may also know where to look for a cam. If you need a spare block I have one from a 48 Lincoln that showed 33,900 miles when I pulled it. Good luck.
Saw this on a '39 Lincoln couple years back in Montana. The guy told me it was the only one he knew about!
Egge will sell you a rebuild kit for about $2,400. This includes a regrind of your cam. You may also call Chris at Boos Herrel in PA. His number is 215-965-8296. I know he had cams a couple of weeks ago he probabaly has rebuild kits. If ya really get stuck, send me a PM in a couple of weeks. I may have a bunch of V12 parts if all goes well.
Try www.cdsengien.com Email cds4571@choiceonemail.com They have rebuilt many Ford V 12's and have about 1 or 2 in the shop right now. Bob
That's tough to say but here's my guess. Basic block, seized , missing parts $300 - $500 Complete but seized $750 - $1,000 Free and complete (good luck finding one) $1,500 -$2,000 Running but not rebuilt $ 3, 500 - $5,000
i have a NOS lincoln V 12 isky cam for sale right now on e-bay check it out john vintakes ebay id way less than 500 bucks
I know a Lincoln motor rebuilder. He does the old ones and is an expert. His name is Jeff Norwil and his number is 253 446-1040, Washington state.
Picked up this 1945 motor with an xtra block for cheap,,prices are hard to figure on these as to some folks they're gold,,but to others the look at them like "good luck finding parts" you def. want to try and find a complete one
If I had only known! I took my drivers test in my dad's '51 Lincoln. (V12) And to think he sold the WHOLE CAR for $800.00!!
There is a Edmunds Lincoln V12 dual intake manifold on Ebay now: End time Jan. 31,2009 around 6:51 PM., 6 Bids so far: $108.05 (reserve not met). Mac1
Looking at the picture, memory tells me it was the 2 motors for 1 price, $1200.oo Boy, it looks like those outer cylinders would of been starving for fuel (compared with the inside cylnders) with that stock intake.I've always wondered where the hot rods with these motors were at... now thats a sight that would be worth creaming over...
rod hadfield who used to own casltemain rod shop in australia has 1 in his 29 pick up that he took to america a few years back. he wud b a gud source but maybe to far away. bet hed know all there is to know bout em. he b easy to google.
You sure about that? Somebody that knows can please jump in but the 40s flathead 12 engines have the #1 reputation for being dogs. They shouldn't be confused with the earlier 12s that were huge and heavy but powerful. I believe there are some fundamental restrictions in the design that prevent helping them much... but again I could be wrong as I've never owned one myself.
