if you get really bored, you can come up to illinois and help us fix broken watermains . thats allways a good time! mike

  3. Shut down the shop? We used to work outside at -20 and we were fine, just gotto work harder to stay warm.
But living in LA has turned me into a sissy myself, it's 35 at night and I am *****ing about it all day.

"the heat's in the tools, son, get to work..."

At least that is what my grandfather told me when I complained.

Sleet & snow here, high 20s, going to be that way thru tomorrow night. Had to go out and feed cows today, they have ice hanging from their ears, were happy to see me. Highways are icy, we live 3 miles down a gravel road and I work from home and unfortunately my laptop connection worked today so I did not get to skip work, just couldn't get out to go see anyone. Got an old central heat unit for the shop but haven't installed it yet so I'm stuck in the house. Thank goodness for the HAMB!

I spent most of the day at my shop relishing in the fact that I didn't have to go to work today! Got a lot accomplished on the dash for my Pontiac and should have it ready for paint as soon as the weather lets up. Going up there again tommorow

You guys south have been getting a taste of our usual weather and we've been breakin' record highs for January. We had zero snow or freezing weather until this week meanwhile you have icicles on yer oranges. My sincere sympathy goes out. Ha ha no complaints here.

Downunder here in Vic, we have 41C (106F), gale force winds, power blackouts, bushfires and smoke haze.....

  20. Now's about the time I wished I would 've insulated my damn shop & bought a good heater. Didn't get a chance to make to work, thanks to the ice/ slush/ snow. Worked at my shop, here at the house, long enuff to get my feet cold. I even had my thermal socks on! Grinded welds on my seat rack that I built for my friends "Gator". Then I decided, I'd better get back in the house. May grind welds on the grill guard tomorrow. I couldn't even get the doors open on my truck, latches froze up. Only disadvantage to having shaved handles. Even my manual cable wouldn't pull 'em open. Shucks.

  21. Jeez, I thought we had it bad. I feel for ya Chebby. 106F Damn!

  22. At least you can paint in that weather, aside from the smoke&haze, ha.

  23. And, I guess, you would need power to shoot, duh. My bad.

I've actually cleaned up my garages, started getting ready of extra junk and began actually building a new car. I didn't think any of those things could happen. I guess selling the stuff gave me the space and money to get what I wanted. Apparently I like the cold.
