ive seen the one with the y-block in it before but just cant remember where, thought that one may have been on ebay also, i just cant place it. cool. ***us
All 3 are way cool. I have a 39 pickup that same exact color. I'd post a picture but my kid's not home to do it for me. Rob.
The truck looks like a great project. I love it. Is the Y-block bolted to the original 3 speed? Gonna run the y-block? Mart.
dont no if it is the orig 3 speed but it is very small.not too sure about runnin the 312.i got an early 327 3x2 i might use.
US THE 312...you don't want a belly ****on truck, do ya? Mine has a 312 in it...lotta people do not even know what the engine is!
Great project! My 34 was originally from Cali. Glad to hear your keeping the fenders on. Unless you chop the **** out of them, I dont feel they look good without fenders. Heres mine. Bob your bed. It needs it..
nice looking chop an channel.looks like your beds gonna be a shorty, its gonna look cool.not sure what parts im gonna use yet.what ya looking for?how do like that y block?
pete joe, love your truck.one of the reasons i looked for one. i figure 8in bob full fenders.thanks for any advice
Thank you. Glad to help if you need any info. I could measure my bed length if you like that Bob. Oughta look good with the mild chop you have. Its perfect.
I am a huge Y block fan, and have ran them in a lot of cars. They are great engines, but honestly if you want a low-buck high performance they are not the one. Kinnda like flatheads, look and sound cool, but speed parts are spendy.
If the Y-block installed right, go with it. It looks great in there. While we're on the subject, does Bobbleed's truck have a caddy?
Great trucks........had a 34 back in the late 70's/early 80's. I think Chris should paint his with white house paint & then all 4 will look like they came from the same milk farm. Keep the 312 - 3 spd. Graet projects. PACO
Excellent choice for a great project. I'm a chevy guy and I agree with the consenus, go w/ the 312. I happen to want to keep the fenders on my '39, although some of my buddies say "nah". It will be fenderless for a while, until I can build a decent set fpr it. Good deal, sawbuck.
close but no....besides, mine will be fenderless anyways. BUT, if I had the fenders for it, they would probably go on, but then again, nothing beats a shorty box lil pick 'em up highboy with a large engine! Dairy farmers from Washington-Chris
