All I can say is....... WOW.....

Does anyone know anything about this? HP , Torgue Rpms?
Does it overheat, since the airflow is coming from the side instead of through the heads? Show only?

    Well, it's not a rotary... it's a radial.

It could be pretty high HP, not sure what exact enging that is, but it'll most likely be slow reving. With a definate cooling problem.

I doubt that friggin thing even runs. And it will only go as fast as it is geared to go. Something like that should be put on a street bike and race Leno's jet bike. Thats what I wanna see

  12. That bike was in one of the biker magazines about a month ago. I skimmed over the article when I went to buy some groceries. Even though the engine looks huge, I think the cubic inch size of the engine wasn't as extreme as it looks. I bet it sounds cool though. Radial engines have a cool clatter.

Yeah, I bet it does have overheating problems though.

There were a few antique cars that had radial engines. I remember seeing one in a museum that had the radial lying flat in the trunk area.

Well they did make rotary aircraft engines and thats what this
one needs. On the rotaries the crankshaft was bolted to the
    airframe and the cylinders spun.:D

  16. yeh it runs, he says it sits back on the tire when he speeds up.
he lives just up the road about 15 min.

    Not so odd really...
That's what a Harley engine design is, just with five more cylinders than a Harley has.
Plus a much smoother idle.

  18. I'll bet the distance that tank of fuel allows it to run is adequte to allow the heat produced.... to remove all the hide from both inner legs.:D
And I thought a V-Max was hot on the *** of the rider.....:p

  19. Ya know, i really love this kind of thing. I dig mechanical feats of this nature. Jay Leno's place is a few blocks away, and i got to go there with my radiator guy a while back. Jays got some pretty weird stuff that i'm not really into. "BUT", almost everything he has (cars and bikes) is extremely mechanically interesting. The steam engines, and all their valving, the way some of the bikes are suspended or driven, etc. He brought out a car recently that i can't remember what it was, but it looked like a fancy Model T Ford. But, when he popped the hood? Awesome! White porcelain barrels, polished copper/br*** cooling system plumbing, the block, the trans case, the oil pan, etc. Just phenomenal

  24. I wonder if the torque of the engine tries to flip the bike over on its side when you rev the throttle?

I see lots of these custom bikes with no covers over the belt drives. Don't these guys get their pants (or toes or fingers) ****ed in between the pulleys and belts sometimes? If we had open belt drives like that on the machines where I work, the county safety inspectors would issue us a fine.
My brother-in-law got his arm stuck in an open belt drive in a machine, and it wasn't pretty. He had to have numerous skin graft operations to replace all the skin that got shredded off.

Torque roll must be an major issue, but for a static display, I suppose it doesn't matter.

That one is considered a radial as well.
I think it was a "Rhone radial".

    Google it.

Don't those torquey things have a really low redline? Something like 3000 rpm?

  28. No, Wiki it. There are very good animations of both radial (which this is) and rotary aircraft engines on Wikipedia under Rotary engine and Radial engine.
