Is anybody out there running a Holley-Weber 2bbl on their Chevy I6? I'm getting ready to mount one on my 235, in place of my leaky, over-the-hill Rochester, but I'm not EXACTLY sure the best way to go about tackling the linkage. I have the carb and a bunch of linkage parts, but no good directions or plan of attack at this point. ANY pictues or advice you guys could post would be SUPER helpful.

    Thanks much,

I know that langdon's stovebolt sells a linkage kit to make up with the stock pedal****embly. I used a junkyard pedal and a cable for the linkage on mine.

He also includes a color picture of the linkage that is pretty easy to figure out. I do recommend replacing the hold down extension tabs with some made of stainless steel or something stronger. I used his stock ones and bent them to***** when I floored it the first time. Luckily I was still in the garage and the car was in nuatral. You can probably go to langdon's website and download the picture.

I am probably going to replace the stock gas pedal****embly with a cable unit later this year.

Langdon's kit works but do not rely on the color picture. The picture I got was not even close to the parts in the kit...

Sorry no pics of the setup.

I doubt you wanna see a picture of me holding a carb in one hand and linkage in the other with a dumb look on my face...

It sounds like you got your setup to work, which is killer. You post some pics of your working carb/linkage and I'll post some pics of mine AFTER I GET IT ALL HOOKED UP!

I figured I'd have to get a bit "inventive" with this puzzle and I plan on coming up with something, I just wanted to see what other people have come up with (you know, so I can COPY it) ;)

Alrighty. I've done two of these now, one with a homemade cable linkage and one with Langdon's kit.

In the first picture, the throttle rod runs up to the inner bellcrank. The other bellcrank (the one touching the bottom of the picture) has a threaded rod running to the carb's throttle arm via a couple of ball studs.

You should have a couple of metal tabs, some rod ends, a long rod, a stop collar, a couple of bellcranks, and some odds and ends.

Basically, the throttle rod pushes up on the first bellcrank, which rotates the center rod, rotating the other bellcrank, pushing the last rod straight across to operate the carb.

You may have to improvise the throttle arm attachment, since they seem to have made about a hundred different versions of this carb, all of them slightly different.

Bolt the tabs on the corners of the carb and bolt the big rod ends to the ends of the tabs. Run the big rod through the bellcranks and rod ends and set it all in place (loosely for now). Don't bother too much with the throttle rod just yet.

Once you've got everything bolted down, check for smooth operation. Make sure your throttle rod bellcrank doesn't get too far out of line, that the bellcrank angles aren't so extreme that it binds up, and that the rod attached to the throttle arm isn't too long or too short.

Adjust as necessary, then check for proper pedal travel. You want to make sure you can hit WOT without HITTING WOT. I ended up having to bend up a slightly longer throttle rod to get the full range out of the carb. Just follow the same curves as your old one and braze on a tab for the throttle return spring. Drill holes for cotter pins and you're done.

    I hope that made sense.

    Cptstickfigure,
Thanks alot for the post, I do believe it's gonna help me immensely! And, yeah, those funky linkage parts DO look familiar, so I think I'm on the right path.

53sled, feel free to chime in with some pics of your own, I'd love to see what you got going... maybe I'll create some kind of hybrid/cross-pollinated/frankenstein linkage out of all of our ideas!

    Thanks again fellas,
