Weatherstripping question.

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by rockabillybassman, Jan 17, 2007.

  1. I've just glued on new rubber weatherstripping seals on my 55 Plymouth. I got the stripping from Andy's. It only could go on one way, so I've got that right. Now the doors are hard to shut, and when shut the doors are being pushed out about 1/2" at the bottom! As this is the first time I've ever replaced weatherstripping, I'm wondering if it will compress with use, or does it sound like I've been given the wrong stuff?

Normally new weather stripping will do that, over a period of time they will compress, if you adjusted your doors with old/no weatherstripping then you might need to readjust your doors once they have compressed
