I have a '49 dodge wayfarer. It's not a plymouth, but it's essentially the same thing. It's got a fatman mustang II front stub and a 440/727 drivetrain.
Looks awesome Wayfarer! What kind of insulation did you use on your floors and inner roof? Great pics on Wayfarer's site in his profile BTW!
The floor in the front and on the firewall has a double layer of fatmat on it, the rest of the car has a single layer. The firewall also has a layer of the aluminum backed jute insulation you see for sale all the time at swapmeets. It's actually really cool and quiet inside the car.
here is my brothers 50 dodge, it is for sale btw. it still has the straight 6 so no engine swap yet. he was going to swap in a sbc but decieded to sell it and focus on the 56 chevy.
yes it does. i think your is alot nicer though. did you weld up the back doors or do they still open?
Great Photo's Bill... From www.carnut.com Some better proportions that the green one above is this primered one....
i am just finishing my chop on my 50 plymouth . i took out 4 in the front and 3 inthe back and moved the roof forward . to put everything back in proportion . going to bag it and run it with big white walls . i have a 5.2 fuel injected motor that came out of a jeep grand cherokee with a 727 for trans . i am going to leave the front becasue it is already an independant front so why mess with it ...
Here is mine , I know it is not a Plymouth but close enough '51 Dodge . Still running the flathead 6 . Me and my brother are working on his 4 door '49 dodge that will get a carson style top 2 doors conversion and a V8 . So I am interested in how you guys put in those V8 as well . Ward
Many years ago I put a band-aid on the deck lid of Sonny Daout's Dodge to cover a small parking lot dent,Sonny just left in on for years. TwoChops
Honestly, I forgot what year this one is. It belongs too Skipstitch and was his high school cruiser. Here is a shot from the KKOA show in Lancaster,OH a few years ago.
Lots of Dodges but not too many Plymouths... So here's my '50 Plymouth fastback. 4" chop, frenched hedlights, with suicide doors. Since this photo was taken I've gotten the headlights installed but haven't gotten any updated pics yet.

Just weird enough with great potential to stand out when that top is addressed.
here is one choprods did for me. Bout the only thing i have done is paint it black and lower it some. Getting ready to do an engine swap from an 88 chevy pickup. The middle link above is the thread on how and what he did. He is the man. Thanks matt
this doesn't really compare to a alot of the sweet rides above... it had a bad amateur resto, so i got it cheap, cut the springs and blocked it, primed it, and slapped on som buick caps that were being used as bird baths... but got a lot of looks...especially from the guy who bought it from me...
i have a 51 plymouth hardtop i'm currently putting a sbc and t350 tranny in. i bought the motor mounts and rear crossmember from plydo. so far it's going pretty good. here are some more pics for you.
