I'm looking into running Webers on the modified. They seem to fit the bill for all of my needs. "Weber carburetors were originally produced in Italy by Edoardo Weber as part of a conversion kit for 1920s Fiats. Weber pioneered the use of twin barrel carburetors with two barrels (or venturi) of different sizes, the smaller one for low speed running and the larger one optimised for high speed use. In the 1930s Weber began producing twin barrel carburetors for motor racing where two barrels of the same size were used. These were arranged so that each cylinder of the engine has its own carburetor barrel." I'd like to see some old shots of Weber setups on traditional rides. Hell, new pictures for that matter. Whatchagot?
I love all the details on that Moal car, but there are way too many of them. I never noticed it was running Webers before.
Hey kirk Im not sure what size that 6 is? but you Ever think about running an early vette sidedraft. thats what I was gonna use on my modified.
Hey Seth, I'm good friends with Stephen. I was picking his and Anthony's (the guy who built that roadster) brain this past weekend about the setup. I have decided to go for it because all I heard were good things from them. I understand you guys don't have a manifold, but that the Clifford one is the way to go. Is that right? Do I pack it with 45 DCOEs?
Yes, Tony Baron did or still does. They aren't the side draft style. More like the ones that guys were running on SBC's in the 80's.
Here are some pics of my Roadster with the Raffle Engine intake ( twin IDF's ), a quad IDA Shelby intake modified for DCOE's, my Mallock with twin 40 DCOE's, a buddy's Mallock with twin 45 DCOE's, and the quad DCNF setup I made to go on my Capri...
Do you have a pic of Daves MGB with 3 webbers? two on one side and one on the exhaust side? Dave gave us a tour of the facilities a while back, people where staring at it going WTF?? I have a pic somewhere but I cant seem to find it.
I like webbers.. They are infinitely ajustable. Not only will you get good power but good gas mailage as well... I have three downdrafts on my 55, and plan to do the same on my Tbucket.. Do it you wont be disapointed...
I've been thinking about putting side-draughts on the 250 that's going into my '54 but though they'd look outta place. Now, after seeing above that Weber's were already popular back then I'm gonna do it. Around here you kick good ones from behind every second bush. The manifold however will have to be custom made.
oh Mikes "got oil" MGB the 3rd DCOE on the exhaust side is just mocked up... lol kirk, yep clifford manifolds they have the 250- 3 x DCOE manifolds.
