dont know what make or year has some nice lines on the cowl and wasnt a rodster in its past life any help would me great.
Here's my '31 Plymouth PA Sedan. Yeah, I know the color is goofy, but my son picked out the color when he was 4 years old. Looking at that rusty firewall and cowl, it took me about a half second to recognize it, considering the hundreds of hours I spent working on my firewall and cowl.
That's a good looking body. Looks like the bottom 6" needs patching, but otherwise pretty nice. The body styles available in '31 for Plymouth were: Roadster Sport Roadster Sport Phaeton Coupe Coupe with Rumble Seat Convertible Coupe Sedan 2 Door Sedan 4 Door Looks like the basis of a cool project. Plymouths are bigger and heavier than Fords. More roomier inside, and pretty solidly built. For '31, the Plymouths had a lot more steel in them (and less wood) than a lot of other cars from the same year. Some of the Plymouth bodies were built by Briggs, which also built some Model A's, so you'll find a few parts like door latches and window cranks from certain Fords will fit.
there is quite a few plymouth owners on here, i have a 30 coupe someday it will have my 331 hemi and slicks
Did any of these bodies have a golf bag door? What about with a wider "point" to the accent line on top of the cowl?
I saw a 28? with a golf bag door, but most of the Chrysler bodies are the same so it could have been a better model desoto ect. As for frame width i dont know i never had a frame but the 37 ford frame i'm on i pinched a couple inches at the cowl and in slid over it like a glove Oh yea at least on my plymouth it has a serial number tag on one of the doors that can be checked for not only year but also division. the info is on a web site somewhere
