Hey, we all know what that thing they call a ****** cooler on a '51 Powerglide looks like. I'm going the 350/350 route, and have a really, really nice original radiator that I would like to get cleaned, pressure checked and use. I am wondering if the aftermarket ****** coolers that go in front of the radiator would be adequate. Wadda think? Ole Porky

  2. Probably more than adequate unless you have a high stall torque convertor.

  3. I had one made by B&M and ran it for years with no problems. Cost about $45 from Summitt. I'd get one of the bigger ones.

I've got one from b&m. I mounted it on the frame rail and fabbed a lttle air scoop for it. Then just run the lines to your ******. I'm running a turbo 400 with a shift kit and a 2500 stall. It' been in there for about six years now with no problems.

I run a little cooler on mounted on the rear axle housing on my 31 A, works great for over a year now in the Texas heat.

The B&M Megacooler is one of the few quality products that B&M makes. I wouldnt hesitate to use it.

While you're at it, install a transmission fluid filter and temp guage

  8. If your motor/****** package is mostly stock why not have a kooler loupe installed it the lower tank while being cleaned.
Stock style work fine in most cars.
