Shelf life of Motor oil??

    I'm thinking of stocking up on some non-detergent oil...Does it have a shelf life unopened??How about deterge:rolleyes: nt oil???

    good question i have a case of 30weight sinclair motor oil left over from when we were a sinclair station

    From what I'm reading you want the pre-SJ rating, as the new oil doesn't have zinc anymore. That's the stuff that kept lifters quiet.

    ya gotta figure it was dinosaurs about 250 million years ago, so sitting on a shelf for 30-40 yrs isn't ****!!lol.
    Believe it or not liquids like oil, ammonia, etc, really doesn't loose to much over time, gasoline is highly flammable so it evaporates fast, oil doesn't, should be cool
