Yeah....music of the sixties was about love.....what a great time. I guess some people think todays music about hate, *****s, and crack are much better. I'm glad I was a teenager in the sixties....can't imagine being one today.

Seems to be the case of seeing 'hippie' as a long-haired, drug-addicted, loser/lazy person. Really a 'hippie' to me was always someone who cared more about people than money, chose creativity over destruction, open vs. closed mindedness, freedom over opression, love not war.
Sure many 'hippies' would find it a bit of a h***le or drag being part of the 9 to 5 norm or living 'straight' but above and foremost thats what makes the artist or dreamer apart.
Every artist is a hippie of sorts in my belief and artists such as Denny managed to give back more to the world than he took and would inspire others to do the same. In the real world much to the dismay of the 'free love movement' yes, not everybody can be a full-time 'hippie' there are factories to be run, roads to be paved, houses to be constructed, bridges to be built. But it must be re***uring to those who 'do the duty' to wake up on a monday morning and have Monday, monday playing on the radio and 'goove to the music' all the day long and come home to relax with 'hippie' actors on TV.
Kinda like Dire Straits' 'Money For Nothing'. It takes ALL kinds of people to make a world.
