This is what I got for My chopped Shoebox interior. I got a Friends neighbor that is helping Me with the seats and Headliner. We, (mostly He) came over Thursday evening and did the rear bottom seat. He glued on the loose dacron filler first then a 1/2" of the foam then streched and steamed the cover over and hogringed it. Without the steamer the covers couldnt have come out this nice Im sure. After it cooled down it shrunk even tighter. Im really happy with the look. Im sure I couldnt have made it look this nice Myself. Having the tools and experience surley makes the difference. Thanks Dennis !!! Anyway heres what I got for 7 hunerd buks. 1) front and rear pleated covers with maroon piping.Front seat is a stock split bench. 2) Complete molded carpet cut pile maroon. 3) seat rebuild kits - contains 2 sheets 24"x 5 foot 1/2" thick foam 2 sheets """"""""""""1" foam 4 sheets """"""""""""burlap 4 sheets """""""""""""dacron 5 bags hogrings and pliers 4) one extra yard maroon carpet (back shelf and lower door panels) 5) 5 extra yards of antique white pleated material. (Headliner and upper doorpanels) Dennis is charging Me $300.00 to come to My house and do the work. It took 2 and 1/2 hours to do the rear bottom seat. I will do the package shelf-Doorpanels and carpet Myself. So for a grand I will have pimpy white interior. It should look good inside My chopped Joan Crawford Come Fuck Me Metalflake Maroon Shoebox. What do ya think ???
I forgot I got this stuff from Automotive Interiors & accessories out of Belchertown MA. I ordered it online and spoke with Diane who was more than Helpfull and caught some mistakes I made ordering. It took just short of three weeks to get.In December. FED
Not bad for the price. Looks like yours is going on tighter than the ones they have in their gallery. I think they could use some pics of yours when you're done. Compliments to your buddy, looks like he's a factor in how good it's looking. Their site: http://www.automotiveinteriors.com/
I think it looks pretty damned good. How are you gonna put up the headliner? Is there anything in the kit for that (stringers, or however it's done) or will it be a glue-job?
Extremist- got nothing in the kit for a headliner. We will use the origional bows and fastner plates for the sides. My Buddy has a plan and a sewing machine. Chaz I dont think its nagahyde its called vinyl. But yes the quality seems good. Its heavy and double stitched. I will keep posting as We go. 59 WAG thanks for the compliment. FED
Come to find out J.C Whitney gets thier interior from them too. So I really dont know if they really make it or not. J.C shows the same seats with the yellow inserts as the place I got em from---go figure???? FED
nice, Im from tacoma! I just bought my ford customline and it needs interior. So they were very helpful?
Wow - looks great for a $grand$!! Please post more pics as you progress (...of the car, too) Thanks for sharing. Malcolm
I can vouch for Automotive Interiors and their service as well. I got the front and rear seat covers and extra material for my door panels for my '49 Ford coupe. I'll post pics when I'm finished. Good quality materials for the $$ and the covers were sewn nice and straight. They would accomodate some modifications you may want as well. Heat sealed pleats aren't as nice as sewn, but they fit my budget. I was very happy with the service as well. They are one of the few outfits that will ship to Canada USPS. Most carriers want to ship UPS which means I have a $40-50 "customs brokerage" fee on top of the shipping. Not good.
