Why do people think you have to have shiney paint? When they see my truck the first to questions are what color you going to paint it and are you going to powder coat the frame.

My truck is as shiney as it is going to get. If it get scratched ,big deal.
I built a truck to drive and have fun with. If you have to worry about about the cosmedics you have the wrong ride.

As far as powder coating why would any one want to coat one until they drive it a couple of years to make sure there is nothing else to be added to the frame. I know that I wouldn't want to spend the cash just to grind off a spot for a bracket.

The yang to your yin is "Why Not", or "Because". Do you expect everyone to think exactly like you?
I hope they don't think exactly like me or where would I steal ideas?
"I'm just a metalflake junkie, stuck in a flat black world." I stole that from FrenchKissKustoms.
    Have fun!!!!!

Pisses me off too, alot of people look at my flat black 55 chev and ask what color I'm gonna paint it.When I tell em flat black and it's already painted they just get kindofa blank look and say too bad it could really be nice.I suppose I should get busy and do Coddington interior and a 5000.00 paint job too. screw them, you build it for you not them

Its just small talk. Its usually the second thing to come out of their mouth. The 1st being, Wow/Cool/Neat/something like that.

I like to make it fun and say a different color each time. I try to say colors that take a lot of words too to make them have to process it a little. Like "Charchol Metallic Light Blue". HeHe! I usually fess up and tell them I havent committed to a color since Ill probably just steal Roothawgs 36's Color anyway.

Same for me....mine is PAINTED flat black with gloss yellow flames that have been outlined professionally and I still get the question..."when ya gonna paint it?" AHHHHH!

  15. Personally if I had a shiney one I wouldn't worry about driveing it no one worried when it was new.

But if flat is your thing leave it flat. sometimes you gotta put a lotta miles on one before you decide on a color that you like anyway.

My body work is not good enough for shiny paint! I need more practice before a shiny black paint job.

I'm thinking either a suede dark red with gray and cream pinstriping or a suede cream-sickle (sp) orange with some light blue pinstripes.

There's a well-known rodder in WA state with a very nice fenderless 32 tudor - in primer...as it has been for several decades - on the back there is a message for the picayunish - it says...This IS the color it is gonna be.....

...gotta two-pack habit and a motel tan...
