    Hello all,
Maybe some one here can settle a argument for me.
I was talking to a fellow co-worker, the type that “ knows it all “
I ask if there was any kind of after market hot rod kit ( car or truck ) that would fit right over a stock Chevy S10 ch***is ? I’ve not seen or heard of any in all the mags that I have . But he swears up-n-down there is but hasn’t come up with any thing to prove it to me.
If ( for once ) he’s right , I would be interested in a 1920‘s -30’s some thing Ford or Chevy pick up truck kit. OR maybe anything else along that line of kit cars.
I’d like to hear from any one that really knows any thing.

im with mazdaslam looks pretty dumb. Something that would come out of boyds shop. Why dont you just build one from scratch. im not sure about a 20s-30s pickups but clark has a tech article posted on s-10 ch***is with 40s chevy truck conversion. there have been several done around here of chevys and fords and they work great. i would check the tech article and see what you think.

  4. I know there is a company called Active Power here in n.e. Ohio that makes s 10 ch***ied 41 willys kits but I think you have to bob the frame horns to do it.There is a link to their website on Byrons G***er Madness.

  5. Man you're right.that thing is stupid lookin.

The Fat-Fendered cars and trucks fit well on an S-10 frame, (late 40's-early 50's). The 20's and 30's don't. The front wheel is set back too far. If you see a fibergl*** model A or B made for an S-10 frame, it won't be proportioned right. The body will be shortened to accomodate the set back front wheels.

There is a company in Florida that mounts a fibergl*** 1937 Ford Pickup on top of a Ford Ranger Mini Pickup. The Ford pickup is authentic looking but is an extended cab to fit the Ranger ch***is. They advertise every month in Hemmings in the truck section.

  9. What I want to know is, how do you change the front and rear gl***? The body kit goes right over it, and the stock S10 gl*** comes out from the outside. Dean

Hey thanks for the imput sofar, I have to agree with what pics I'v seen here sofar. Way too Chicish-n- Boydish looking and blue collar Yuppy way of sayn " I got money"
Here around my neck of the woods , Ol car or trucks are to rusted out to have any thing good to start from and if it is the starting price is in the thousands. I don't have the time or bigger bucks to go into the mid west to find and bring back any thing to build from.
So I'm just lookn into some differnt way of going into it if I can.
Still Please keep me poasted and lots of pics if you all will .

Mr. Joecool, In some other web sites I belong to there are members that send me pics of what they find sitting alone in fields, woods, back yards , on Ol farms and of course junk yards.
Some from Iowa, Kansas, New Mexico, Colorado, just to name a few. The cars-n-trucks are out there ,some for cheap or big bucks, some just a give away.
You just have to look or know some one in that area.
“They have it if you will come”
I live just way to far away to go get them, and not rich enough to spend money to have some one ship me one. Soooo……. I dream on……………………………….........Unless I hit the Power Ball……………

Rodster, looks like some of the stuff that came out for VW's in the 70's.

Still, The whole S-10 windsheild frame/doors/etc. look so out of place and stupid. I mean, atleast shave them off and fill the body lines, and do something about that enormous windsheild.

Wasn't there a company that made 41 Willys coupe and pickup bodies for the S10 frame? Fibergl***, but not a bad looking replica, IIRC.

I had seen about 4 of these in the past year up close, and YES you are correct the body kit goes right over the gl***. I have no idea how you would change it if was broke, which is prolly why one of the trucks that i had seen had a busted windsheild in it still...

Obviously you've never driven an S-10. I own a 1997 S-10 pickup, and I can confidently tell you that it drives like **** and lacks power. While it is fine as daily transportation, it is not an ideal candidate for anything that is supposed to even remotely resemble a "hot rod".
