Hi guys, I'm a SoCal transplant from Salinas, no hot rod project yet, but I've been soaking up a lot of cool tech from the archive and decided I should register. There's so much info on this board, I can't believe it took me this long to find it. I'm a fan of all kinds of different styles of hot rods, muscle cars, and traditional rods, but the first time I went to the West Coast Kustoms show in Paso I knew I wanted to build a traditional rod. I've done a bit of welding/fabrication and some auto body, mostly in high school and college (no cool tools myself, just wrenches) but not much real custom work, yet. Current projects: '67 C20 finding a rod project to bolt on the pieces I take off of my truck.
Welcome "Hard Way" not only to The Hamb.....but to the OC, the 'mecca" of Hot Rodding. Thers a lot to do and see in Orange County, and tons of History and "ol timers" to talk to.!
Thanks, I didn't really know how much hot rodding went on in Salinas until right before I left. My family has known Rod Powell for quite a while, I'd like to have something worthy of some of his pinstriping some day. Now that I'm in SoCal there's no excuse to not learn as much as possible. So far I've been to Donut Derelicts a couple times, but I'm not much of a morning person. Yeah, yeah, that's a horrible excuse, I know.
If you're a Tuesday night person come out to Yorba Linda to the "village idiots" gathering. The address is 20385 Yorba Linda Blvd. On the corner of Yorba linda Blvd. and Village center drive. Almost all HAMB guys and cars.
Welcome. A lot of stuff to do in So Cal. Car show season pretty much starts at the GNR's in January and ends at Mooneyes in Dec. Gotta love it.
