Looking to find a old volvo that looks like a 2/3 size 48 ford 2 door. what is it.?what yrs? thanks, jim.
It is a Volvo 122 also known as an Amazon,,they came out in 1956 if I remember right,,last was late 60's early 70's,,great cars have had ,quite a few,,biggest issue is frame rot
wish that had been the answer ,but not. the one i want looks like a 46/48 ford 2 door sedan.has a split w/s ,thanks. jim.
My mistake,,yeah the PV's,,was thinking "looked liek the 49 Ford ,,either one looks good with a Flat 60 under the hood
Sure your not talking about the '59? I had a '59 that really resembled an old Ford I always thought a '41 but it would have also been close to the '46. I don't remember the model number. i originally was going to drop a 283 in it but then I had too much fu n driveing it and sold it before i finished the motor. It would be a '59 544. I think there was actually a year range for this body but i don't know what it would be for sure. Leme see if i can upload pics.
Thats the car, girl. way to go. would almost kill for one any takers? Would just like to put some wheels on it and drive. it has 4.5 bolt pattern.
Yesh but you have to be carefull as you need 15" 4.5 ,,least on the 122's you do,,544,444's are not hard to find and priced good,,they too have the frame rot issues thats the 444's
Post war up to 57 pv444's had a split windshield. 58-64 pv544's had one piece gl*** and a bigger backgl***. Interiors on 444's is more vintage looking also, gauge cluster looks like a pontiac and had a banjo steering wheel. Doc
Mine didn't have a split gl*** but it did have a banjo wheel. Of course that doesn't mean much I bought it at a wrecking yard for 35 bucks to drive while I was putting my bike back together ( I'd say about '78 or 9). The yard guy said he thought it would run. I filed the points he gave me an old battery that was charged, and a gallon of gas. I fired it and drove it off. Even the SUs were good on it. Now there's something for you 235 guys if you want a different intake setup. Snag 3 of those SUs and build a quickey intake for your inline. They work like a champ on those old chebby mills.
Those resemble '50s mercs more than early fords. I don't recall seeing too many rodded back in the day but they would make a good I gotta be different car. I have seen several of the 544s rodded over the years, dateing back to when I was still a kid.
I've got 2 might be able to locate another or let my parts car go before long.Or hell I could sell this one maybe.
This one is a 1937 Volvo Pv 51 with Chevy small block and 350 auto. Check out the original front suicide doors
47 to 50 have the old 4x100mm bolt circle, and 47-51 have the oldest looking dash,47-53 have split front and rear gl***,54-57 have slit front gl***,and a small onepiece rear gl***,58 came the 544 modell, onepiece gl*** all around(not doors) and a more boring look.engines thru the years was 1.4 to 1.8 litre. there was also a stationwagon, also 2 door, called 445 up until mid 60,then called 210,445 have split front gl***,if you plan to hotrod one of these, the front suspension is the weakest link, thin wall crossmember, and weak inner spindle.
c303,oh i hate those, drove those things in the army,6000+ pounds and a 120hp 3 litre six,yihaaw...not.I´m looking for c303 axles though,as I´m collecting parts for the ultimate wagoneer buildup.
I just happen to have one. I was going to put a straight axle in it with a small block. PM me if interested. It's a project though..not a driver.
