Decided I'd lurked long enough. Been checking da hamb out and getting learned on various methods of throwing a rod together for about a year now. Currently digging up cash to get my 26 Tudor Sedan off the ground. Got a body, frame and a 302 to tackle, so if I can get my fingers thawed out long enough from gripping the handlebars in this damn cold, it's about time to wrap em around some wrenches again... Figured I'd say hey, from Oklahoma City ...back to the grindstone

welcome from the lone star state...ft worth to be more exact...i'd like to see some pics too...sounds like a cool project.
Got a few pics dusted off. Planning on chopping it a bit and channeling it. Also, got a Model A frame I'm needing to box and Z. Been going in circles trying to decide whether to drop a 302 in it, or take an old rebuilt Packard Straight six I've got access to for a good price. Plan on making some long trips, so I'm figuring parts would be easier to come by if I stick it out with the 302, godforbid something decides to throw a fit in the middle of nowhere. Pretty excited about finally getting started on it. Still got lots to learn, so I'll tackle it as it comes. This is my first real car project, so I'm starting at square one on a lot of aspects, but I feel better getting my own hands dirty, as opposed to watching someone else have all the fun. Plus, on a project like this that's built from the ground up, it's sorta like havine an airplane mechanic rebuild your engine on your plane without you being around to see what all was involved. You hope he knows what he was doing, but when it comes down to it, he's not the one with his *** flying through the air! After totaling out my Harley a few years ago after a guy decided stop signs didn't apply to him, I bought one of those kits that had all the parts needed to build a custom bike. I changed a ton of parts out on it, got it ***embled, and it's been keeping me in the wind ever since. Hell, it got my wife and I to Sturgis and back in one piece, so I'm fairly confident I can spin all this metal into something. Not that I don't love riding everyday, but some of these winter mornings I begin to wonder at what spot does the live to ride, ride to live motto p*** the point of insanity Got a feeling it wouldn't be that bad to cruise around in a nice runnin rod on those rainy days, as opposed to dodging these goofballs that insist on pulling out in front of me at the worst possible times. Looking forward to shooting tha ****. Got a feeling I'll soon have a lot of questions! Thanks for the welcome!
