Well wanna change the sound of the coupe a little ive got 18 inch 2.5 cherry bombs and turn downs right now want something a little different no flowmasters or smittys but would like a straight thru design anyone got any borlas or magnaflows that sound good on a 11:1 sbc with mild cam,my exhaust dumps at a 45 before the diff. and I welded flanges in so mufflers could be changed easily.let me know if you know of something that sounds good, deep raspy idle and not to high pitched at wot.Thanks.

I have 2 sets of magnaflows. The blown 350 car is a little rappy, insanely loud, and has really short mufflers. The stock LT1 car is smooth & deep and has longer versions. But hard to argue the price versus quality, they're built very nicely and a little bit of online shopping will score those for non-stainless price.

I put CarQuest 21/4in. 14in. superturbo's on my sbc, dual chamber. No tailpipes so they don't rap at all but have a real healthy deep tone with headers and a lumpy cam.Took a few miles to break in but got better sounding after they did.

I also like the Magnaflows, especially the 4" or 6" round ones since they're a little more "straight-through" and lighter than the standard rectangular case Magnaflows. Another, louder option might be the Dynomax race bullets.

Didn't the old sidepipes sound good with those really long glasspacks???
Been so long since I heard them I can't hardly remember!!! LoL
Remember thinking it was good for some reason...

How does the sound change in a glasspack as the length increases? Deeper?
    Maybe use two glasspacks inline...

I dunno...just firing it out there for consideration! :)

Way back when a friends brother had a 36 coupe with a nailhead. He ran duals with resonators only. fairly quiet idle, and cruise, barked authoritatively when stepped upon. I believe the resonators were stock buick items and were mounted under the floor behind the seat.

I've had good luck with Dynomax mufflers. The Super Turbos have always treatd me well and sound good and throaty. Inexpensive to boot. Try having a look at these guys, I liked the sound of thier mufflers: http://www.pypesexhaust.com/mufflers.html Haven't tried 'em, though. I'm running Flowmaster 50 series Delta Flows and LOVE 'em.

I've put 40 series flows under it for now(hating it) but worked out a deal and trading them for dynomax race bullets soon they are still glasspacks but only a 8"case so it should be plenty loud.Luckily I kept my cherry bombs! My buddy just put the pypes violators on his chevelle and it sounds awesome, but anything sounds good on a 12:1 388ci smallblock that pushes a massive 72 chevelle to 12.2 on motor only!

Right on. Post up a sound clip when you get 'em installed.
