  3. You're getting pressure from who (or is it whom)? If you like it, leave it. If you want it in paint, paint it.

I personally would paint it but it's not my car. How's that for non-commital?

You said it "will" be a driver. Focus on making it a driver. Take your time on a paint choice.

Patina is cool but enough is enough, IMO your car would look better in paint. --mika

Throw some epoxy primer on it--tint it if you want to. I like patina, but more on 30's stuff and trucks with old lettering on the doors. Save the shiny stuff for when it's mechanically sound, but it needs a one-color body. IMHO.

    Here's the deal.
If your willing to spend the time ( tons) and money (allot) to do the body work right ( straight) , then paint it.
Otherwise, if it's not perfect, folks will cut it down.
The way it is now, there is no mistake that it is what it is.
The other option is to take a DA and sand it , then lay a couple of coats of your favorite "Suede" on it, then it will be one color, but acceptable because it's not shiney.
Just order your favorite color from the 'Flatz' guys.

    That's my opinion.

I would either paint it shiny or leave it like it is, but not just in primer. Does that make any sense?

I'm in the same boat with my 53 pickup. Great patina, but I'll probably paint it this spring.

If it where mine, I go for primer for now and real paint in the future when the cash starts flowing

    patch prime then paint.

  18. I agree, but you forgot the post-paint maintenance and stress. It seems to be human nature to look for flaws. If you really wanna paint something, I suggest midnight blue for the wheels.

    Thanks,
    Kurt

Paint it with a blue and rust scheme to give it an "old school" feel.

I'm with Gator. Either do it all the way and lay down a super clean paint job, or **** the paint and primer all together and leave it exactly the way it is. I vote for olive green, I'm attatching a picture to show what it should look like.

Oh, and while you're at it, you should really shave that rear window wiper. It totally distracts from the rest of the car. And as long as you're shaving it, you should sell it to me for my '46 Chevy.
