Unless something drastic happened,,, the former Luzader 5 window wont be there....last i heard it was still in pieces, up the road from me...and there has to be others....anyone know
jusjunk: the "75 Most Significant '32 Ford hot rods" will have their own building at the Grand National this weekend. I went down the list with one of the guys running things right before the Cow Palace show, and he said the number was in the low 60s...I think 64 was the final count. Some cars are lost, others are in pieces, and in some cases the owner just won't tow it out. I know of at least one car that's being redone for Pebble Beach and there isn't the time or money to get it ready for the show. Of course, not all the cars look like their classic selves...some have been re-rodded, others are in a bad way. In other cases, more than one car will be there - the car as it is now and a tribute/clone. The Veda Orr roadster is an example of this, as the tribute and the actual car will be side by side.
You may want to come out from under that rock every now and then....... http://www.hotrodshows.com/gnrs.html Recently I read that they were unable to locate nine of the significant 75. Leaving for the Grand National Roadster Show as we speak, can't wait. .
Its a combination of the reasons on the old Luzader car, 1st, the owner has owned it since the 60s...he feels(rightly) that its more HIS coupe than the Luzader coupe(hes owned it longer), 2nd, it was torn down to be pro streeted in the 70s, so it has been altered, 3rd, the owner has an extremely busy Auto shop, and has 0 time to get deep into the resto or completion of the car at this time...I think its kind of a retirement project...I do, on occasion, still let him now I'm interested, and would give it a good home.... probably have a better chance at catching a friggin' dinosaur, but..... Still on the 32 line of thought, I've just been given a lead on a STEEL 32 3 window, an aborted project that was to be a gift for a son, who would rather have a Honda.......it was a channeled, Olds powered hot rod, but I understand its been unchanneled, on a different frame, & has been sitting unloved for 18 yrs....so the search is on....!
I hope someone takes lots of pictures of the all deuce building to post here! wow, that should be an amazing show.
I guess I'll climb out from under the rock with Dave cuz I had no clue what event he was referring to either.
