Does anyone know of a company that makes replacement 1954 Chevy seats? Mine came with an EL Camino front seat, which is not considered factory to some people...

    Thanks

I haven't seen anything new out there, but the 55-57 bench seats look pretty good in there. I'm building a 53 right now and I am using an old buick sylark seat.

  3. Which seat do you need, a folding bench or 4-door? I've got a spare 4-door if you need one.

Yeah, because '57 Chevy seats are freakin' everywhere, they're just givin' those away.

I've got an extra '53/'54 split bench here that I'd gladly swap for a 55-57 Chevy split seat. Nobody makes those either.

Clint, hit the Pomona swap. A bunch of the guys that have misc. Chev parts ****tered also have yards stashed away and can get you pretty much whatever you need. I used to go to a guy's yard that was also in Pomona and got my front bench from a 54 that was still on the flatbed (Mine had a Ford bench). I heard he died awhile back and his yard is gone, otherwise I would send you there.

Thanks for your thoughtful insight and helpful suggestion. BTW, does "original ****" refer to aftermarket hod rod stuff made back in the 50's & 60's, too ???

    Did a "**** purist restorer" step on your **** once ??? :D

Check out Glide Engineering (www.glideeng.com) - Not sure if they make that exact bench, but I'm staring at the latest issue of Rod and Custom and there is a small writeup witha pic of a 49-53 Ford Coupe bench in skeletal form - they sell the foams too I think. Hell, worst case scenario, you could pop one of those in there if you didn't mind cross-contamination.
