Well not really but we have started to emboss all of the new panels I've made. So far we have done the floor, trans tunnel and firewall. Hood and doors along with pickup bed will be embossed next. Flames flames flames apart from the vampire skulls in the floor yes I know skulls but so what I like em
Wow! Look it's the fucking SPELL CHECK POLICE. More involved with the guy's SPELLING TECHNIQUE then his ability as a CRAFTSMAN. Way to go OFFICER SPELLMAN, I almost didn't recognize you without your DICTIONARY and RED CORRECTION PEN.
I like the satin backround polished highlight effect. Are you going to paint it that way? Maybe flat and shiney?
The embossing is done with a bead roller. The secret is that the bead roller is hydraulic and there is a foot control that alters the speed from 0 upwards. This means one guy can steer the panel and control the speed resulting in a better flow. We will post a tech I just need to get pics done of us on the machine
The panels that have satin / buffed have had the embossed areas buffed up with a 3M conditioning disc. I waas just goofing around to see what it would look like. I am considering satin paint and then buffing again as this really makes the embossing stand out, but at the moment I am thinking of 1200 wet sand all over then buff the embossing and then apply Nyalic which is a clear dam near bulletproof coating.
I cant afford triple carbs so I decided to make the down tube set. The base is made from stainless steel tube with a domed end welded on, then I split the tube in half length ways. The risers are made out of stainless steel polished hand rail tube. The hood of the car will be just above the bottom of the base tube so it will look a lot different when the hood is fitted. Its pretty basic but thats the theme I have gone along with on this project.
Bead roller?? So you drew the flames on and steered around the shape with a bead roller? Now I'm doubley impressed. I thought you made a pattern and hammerformed the flames. I like it.
My mate draws the flames on by hand and does them with one pass perfect everytime. I cheat on some of them though. The skull was a picture I found on the net so I printed it off and traced it onto the panel with carbon paper. Then hit it the bead roller and bingo
Hmmm........that should be one c, two o's, and no kew...... I'm not the spelling police, I'm just a deputy....
Thank you for not building the same car 90% of everyone else is. It's very different and unique. I like it a lot.
What? I'm the sweetest girl I know. I'm HIGHLY impressed that work came from a bead roller. I was thinking "ohhh hand pressed thru".
