Slowly we are getting closer to making it all real. Heres a little background on my 29. We started with this. Now we are close to starting slinging mud on the steel. The merc dash is one of my favorite things about the car. Heres some of the interior panels. The big lincoln goes away to get boiled and cleaned up here pretty soon. Its a 59 430, with an Isky solid cam, Isky springs, and rockers. Top it off with a Crower U-Fab 6x2 and of course the Hunt mag. With a toploader for ****s and giggles, it should be able to put on a show. Anyway let us know what you think.
If I remeber correctly those lincolns only made about 360hp & 390 torque stock, think you might want to add a shot of nitrous to get that bucket rollong properly;-), should be a hairy ride, looks great so far keep the progress pic's coming.
In 1959 it was stock 345 hp and 490 lbs/ft. This engine has some history to it. It was a drag boat engine running 125 mph. It was injected then though. I think with the 300 degree Isky it should make plenty of power.
Well, now that's seriously cool. Love those old Lincolns. Shades of Johnny Bond and the "Hot Rod Lincoln".
Geez . . . when I saw 430 I thought Buick . . . cool. The big Lincoln is even cooler. I think that's the same style Lincoln engine that ran in a fuel dragster in the early 60's. Stroked to 555" and the name of the car was, "President Lincoln." We always rooted for it and it took top eliminator at San Fernando more than a few times. No easy venue to win at, there were some big names there nearly every Sunday. That's your car laid out on the lawn in pieces? Talk about your "kit cars."
'29 Roadster,.... Lincoln power'd,....six twos,......with a Merc dash. What a start on a kool project!! I love everything about it. Happy Trails, Mick
