So I am going to put a 2.3l ford banger motor in the A, and have been tossing between a turbo setup and a sidedraft setup.
I really want the song of the sidedrafts but also want the power of a turbo. Then it hit me, Put a sidedraft in front of the turbo, duh!
I would like to see some pictures of the turbo setups that you guys are running, either blow thru or suck thru like the one that I am planning. (today at least, could change tomorrow!) Any specs would be a great help for the carbs that you are running.
I could go efi with a megasquirt but that would come later when more funds are available. So if you have any info good or bad for the megasquirts, chime in on that too
    Thanks ,
    Greg.

MS is great.. Run one in the T in my avitar.. Low buck too--$130? for the kit.. Ideal for turbos-- Lets you richen up under boost.. Anyboddy can do it.. Easier than carbs..

I have an old Rayjay suck through originally for a wrecker, using a 350SBC.. Its Carbed though, and I got it running smokey rich under boost with a 750 holley trying to save the stock, flattop motor.. Got it in a 29 A coupe-- Not my favorite car--Plan to cut it up and rework it soon., but learned alot turboing it..

Like turbos--did a twin JYTT 5.0 last year--ate the motor real quick though, and rebuilt NA.. Good low buck fun..

I'll try and post the Turbo 350/350 coupe and the JYTT monday from work....

i've been trying to get 4 banger guys to form a chat room for those of us interested in running 4 poppers in our hotrods. A covered 2.3 in a track T would be hard to pick out. I have several 2.3 Ford engines and several 2.5 GmS I have a SVO turbo motor I plan on using a paxton blower on inplace of the missing turbo I still have the factory fuel injection unit on it but the turbo itself was removed. I also have an older turbo T Bird unit that was carbed I'm looking for other guys who are familiar with these motors operating in a stand alone form like you'd need for a T or A type application. My biggest thing is these will be the first injected motors i work with

I havent acctually ran it yet ( its not done yet and I got sidetracked with other projects...)

The Engine is a 1.6 Ford Kent X-flow with a Turbo off a '85 Escort on a home made exhaust manifold, that will blow into a Maserati Pressure box and Carb mated to an old aftermarket intake manifold that I modified...

You should check out the megasquirt website for info on efi's. They have a very good support forum for the system. Grassroots stuff but from everyone I have heard from about the system, it is exactly what you are looking for in terms of simplicity as well as application. People put efi on some pretty oddball stuff. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy thinking about it.

    that comet is awesome!!
I wonder where I could hide some tanks? Would under the cowl in place of the original gastank be a good idea, hehe?!
I saw a propane conversion done on spike tv's offroad show awhile back and now this, boy you got me thinking now!!
If I do it as a draw thru and keep the pressures down, would the gas act a intercooler of sorts? I have been staring at the car trying to figure out a place to mount an intercooler and the best I can do is have an air/liquid one stashed away.
    whatcha think?
