For starters, I HAVE done a search but can't find an answer.

The consensus is that Evercoat Rage Gold is the Cat's *** for Body Filler. Where do you buy it? I know I CAN order it online, but I'd like to find a place to pick it up in person.

The geniuses that manage the EverCoat website leave that minor detail out. I went to a few national parts store retailers' websites to see if they carry it in their stores and those websites are just as useless.

any body shop /auto paint supply store should have it

  3. Look up automotive body supplies in your area, around here they go by Painiters Supply, and Automotive color supply, ect, they will have a full line of auto body shop supplys, some Napa stores also carry auto body supplies.

And yes Rage Gold is one of the best body fillers I have used.

  4. LOOK UP POSTS BY "OVERSPRAY", HE KNOWS A LOT ON THIS.....

It's all plastic...INCLUDING "ALL METAL" WHICH IS NO METAL AT ALL.....

look at the longhaul/ track record and not the ease of sanding as a guideline....:p
There are only 3 actual makers of body plastic in America and about 40 brands of plastic so really, who makes what?:D
Evercoat's "Icing" is an excellent product too...[a hardened minor imperfection /glaze filler that will not shrink ]

  5. try thishttp://www.yellowbook.com/?T=5&A=1&BQT=3&Q=categories%3Aauto+paint-whol.+%26+dist.&WH=connecticut&x=48&y=16

  6. try your local automotive paint jobber they will have it.
before you spend the long dollar on evercoat try dyna-d lite body filler.I have slung more mud than i care to remember including evercoat rage and rage gold and have come to the conclusion that dyna d lite spreads smoother(no pinholes)and sands easier than evercoat.dyna d lite is available at any autozone for about 30 percent less dough than evercoat.the best glazing filler i have found is called "dolphin glaze".weird name but works great.
if you cant find dolphin glaze the next best thing is adding fibergl*** resin to the dyna d lite .dont put any resin hardener in it just your regular amount of bondo hardener.bondo is basically ground polyester resin and talc.I know this sounds unorthodox but I have done it for years at different body shops I have worked for and it works great.

Try Auto Body Depot if you can't find it locally. You must live out in the boonies though. Try basecoat clearcoat filler, its just as good.

CHOPRODS has it right. I've used so many I can't recall as well. I always go back to the good ol "Kromate Light" by USC. Priced right and when used correctly, no pinholes and easy to work with. In my area it's usually less than 1/2 the cost of RAGE stuff. For the record, built too high, covered in primer too soon, they all shrink.

www.autobodytoolmart.com or 1.800.382.1200, but you should be able to buy it locally from any bodyshop supply shouse and save the shipping. Stu

I have wondered about the all metal, as I have used it on a frame before to smooth it out and then had it powder coated. The powder coat stuck just fine, and the coater said it was because there are "tiny bits of alluminum" in the all metal?!?!? I didn't agree with him, but had no real proof?!?!? It does seem a lot stronger than regular body filler though, is it???...Ken

I found Dynatron Dyna-Gl*** (short strand fibergl*** reinforced) to be pretty user friendly too.
