    hack.

 Kidding! That is beyond amazing. Building a 1:1 car to that calibre is impressive... at that scale... wow... just wow.

  5. I wonder what,"cackling"sounds like in 1/16th scale?:D These guys are much more than model buiders;they are artisans of the first order.I feel like I have ten thumbs when I look at something like that.

  7. That was about my 1st impression too!

  8. Amazing craftsmanship! Anyone notice he's wearing a Foster SLingshot shirt? If I'm not mistaken that would be Pat Foster, Cole's old man! He does in 1/16 scale what Pat does in 1/1 scale......

Hell, I have a hard enough time with full size stuff - I can't imagine working on stuff that small - I mean the whole car would fall through some of the holes I've burned through welding! ;)

Yeah - the pic on the opening page was taken at a show I put on back in 2005 - he actually unbolted many of the engine parts there at the show and half-dis***embled the engine for us right there so we could see how he did everything. Roger Lee is a great guy!

All of that work in br***, absolutely amazing!

  15. Man, I'm humbled just looking at that. The skill, patience, and attention to detail just boogles my mind. I feel proud when I sew a bunch of straight pleats. This guy must just be besides himself looking at that. And who said cars aren't art?

  19. That model is absolutely incredible. I'm always impressed by someone that has the skill and patience to take on such a project. I've been to a few shows and seen models of this caliber for sale, and everybody *****es and moans about the price (even though they'd never buy one even if they were only a dollar). Sometimes I feel like smacking them across the face and saying "ever tried making one?!" I can't think of a greater insult to the time and talent of these people than to complain about such a thing.

Go to www.cacklefest.com, click on the "cars", click on the "Loukas & Preising" Fuel Bantam coupe and then go the the bottom of the page to see the model I built of it. 1011 parts. Now you can scratch.

I have been showing my replica dragsters at the CHRR almost every year since 1998. If you "GOOGLE" my name Roger " Riceman " Lee there are a few web pages to look at, WDIFL.com, Draglist, ScaleAuto, NNLwest.com, straightlinemodelers.org. Thanks for looking. I have built the Surfers, Masters & Richter, Brissette & Sutherland, Magicar, 1962 Bakersfield TFE of Fuller-Zueschel -Prudhomme, cobuilt the Coyle Chevy 2 funny Car of Jim Liberman, rebuilt & detailed using the bodies only from 1320 Inc. Diecast dragsters of Beebe & Mulligan, Wheelie Dealer, Gary Cochran, and the California Charger.

    That's one small ride.
