we have this "good old days of salt flat racing" video that we play on the television at work in the showroom, it shows all kinds of bonneville racing etc... Anyway, this vid reminds me of one part, where inbetween runs, they had a motorcycle race, but the point is to see who can cross the finish line last without touching the ground.

the track wasn't slick. NHRA goes over the top on track prep before the fuel cars run. the track probably didn't have much heat in it or the fact that those were funny cars making like 5,000hp. it's all in the clutch setup with those cars. good track or not.

Perhaps some here will remember that smoking the tires through most of the race was the status quo in the 60s for a fuel dragster.

RFLMAO!!! I love that game! I spent all my cash on Nitro! Maybe I would have gotten around the track if I'd bought tires. :D

    What you mean "most"?

I remember an early Baracuda somebody dropped a TF engine in and made a p*** at Amarillo Dragway-- Huge cloude of smoke even into the traps:eek:

Heard someone say fuelers looked for 15% slippage the entire run.

Ahh the good old days of slingshots!

I remember watching that race last season. Yeah, they got lot's of air time on that one. I'm itching for the new season to start, but not sure about the new points system. Well, I'm keeping an open mind, but I don't like how it sounds. NHRA the last few years has been plenty exciting without messing with the points. Sorry, back on topic...
