The lead guitarist for Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet now heads up a band called Atomic 7. Check 'em out.

I'm also partial to a Canadian group by the name of Huevos Rancheros...

Actually, most of the names in the last day or so have been mentioned. I think a lot of us are getting lazy in our collective old age and not reading all the posts. Hell, I'll admit that this was the second time I had read this thread since it was first started, so about halfway through it resorted to using the FIND feature.

I did a search for surf music not too long ago and came up with this thread an one other that had a bunch of bands listed and here is the most complete list of names that were on all the threads. I'm sure there were some left off but it's a good start. I am now carrying that list so when go to places like Best Buy or other places where I can buy CDs, I can look for all the 'right' bands so I can really build a solid library.

Woa...thats a big list. I would also recommend a few of my personal surf rock favorites: The Hypnomen, Friends of Dennis Wilson, The Amino Acids and a good band I recently stumbled upon, The Treblemakers.

I'll continue to add the newcommers to my list. I'm trying stick bands that have larger followings. Smaller local bands that aren't from this area are tough to buy in our local stores and I really prefer to buy music in stores. I'm kinda traditional like that. I'm lucky that Dayton, OH has several music stores, (Gem City, ***********'s and a couple others) that are know to carry/order odd music.
