GNRS- Merc "sled" in the parking lot

I snapped this little bad-ass 1940 Mercury in the parking lot of the GNRS. Sorry, I dont have any more pics, but does anyone have anymore info on this full custom "sled"? I dont think Ive ever seen a '40 (ford OR merc) done with such machismo. F'in A, man. F'in A.

There very few that are black (that looks black to me) I think you mean maroon.

the mitred glass doesnt work but the car looks quite nice. Who doesnt like a 40 Mercury. Any shots of it from the side?

I posted it, got a few replies, everything cool. Went to bed, and found out the gremlins to got to the link in the morning. Weird. Anyway, its back up.

 

OK, after a good night sleep it looks better now. Very cool. I like.

That car belongs to one of our locals, a tattoo artist named Fip. He's in the Beatniks. It was cool when he pulled right onto the dirt at our King of Clubs show. Most guys with a car that nice are waving their california dusters like they're trying to land airplanes That car is the nicest thing in Dago town and he doesn't hesitate to bomb it anywhere.

With a car like that and drove it from 'dago and parked it with all of them big ass trucks that tower over it just yearning to get a door ding, that guy has balls or he is just like alot of us and considers it a driver and not a car that got there by trailer. I like the car. Badfella, get his ass on here so he can post more pics of it. In my books, black is the only real color for a custom rod or primered out one. And on top of that, how many '40's Mercs do ya see around compared to '54 chevies or '32 fords? KNUX!

 

Very nice. I agree with others' comments about the windshield, but I think the skirtless/low-all-around look is a fresh spin on a custom '40 Merc. Works for me.
