info on c-notching a shoebox?

    i checked the tech archives and couldn't find much information on this. I was wondering if anyone has more info,pics,etc. for c-notching a shoebox ford.Thanks in advance

    Do it like any other frame rail.
    Cut out the shape you want,
    then weld the C shape to bottom of rail..

    When I did my 51 we found it easier to buy a notch kit cut out of flat steel. Mainly because the stock shoebox frame is so uneven. By welding in the flat plate, we were able to heat up the flat steel and hammer it to meet the uneven surface of the frame. I think Gambino Customs now has a kit or htere is always Suicide Doors.Com.

    I cut my own plate out which took forever. I'd contact Alex at Gambino's cause he does offer a c-notch for the fords now. Good guy to work with.........bought my air bags from him.
