Just wanted to know from those that were in attendence, what really stood out and slapped ya in the head and made ya look 2-3 times and make your jaw drop? KNUX!
Cole Foster built 36 (even though I've seen it a few times), Kent's 38, Pinkees booth, Chet's Ford (Axle Draggers), Donnie's Low Rider, Powerplant's motorcycles..... There were a few others that really caught my eye.... but these were the few that I still have in my head. -Juan
This 31 coupe was interesting even tho it isn't a show stopper. Other than the windshield frame there are no 32 parts used. The owner made everything else to make a 31 & 1/2 coupe.
Deuce Vicky in Brizio's booth. Very understated, but I could drive this for years and never get tired of it.
the 31 model A coupe in the Pinkees booth with the sectioned duece rails, i went back and looked at that car at least a half a dozen times and i still cant stop thinking about it. and of course Cole's 36 and the 38 cabriolet. also the rolling bones chopped 34 in the Hop Up booth and their Tudor in the other hall.
The customs. Maybe I shouldn't be going crazy over customs at the hot rod roadster show, but I did. The Dore-built Buick (Hetfield's) and Caddy, Cole's (Hammet) '36, the D'Agostino Olds (nice pic above) and the chopped/sectioned '56 Montclair in the Suede Palace all made strong impressions. The 75th Deuce collection was unforgettable - what a great gathering of legendary cars! Killer idea and very well presented. ~Scotch~
Is it me or did I not see any late '40's-early '50's Plymouth' or Chrysler' there? I was hoping to see at least one or the other being that I have one of each. I guess I will have to have one there come next year' show. KNUX!
