I just saw a deal sell on the for sale list for a wood kit for a 30's model A. I am thinking of getting into a two door sedan that is going to need the wood replaced. How hard is this task and are they specific pieces special made or is it something I could make here at the homestead?? I have a pretty good background in working with wood but not an expert. If specialty parts where would you go about getting them and how much$$$$$$$$

A good book to look into is "Model A Ford Mechanics Handbook Vol.#2 It is written by Les Andrews and published by Cottage Hill Publishing of Gr*** Valley California. This book deals with installing top wood and sides and rear gl*** frames for sedans, coupes and trucks with great pictures as well. I'm sure he has another book dealing with the frame to body and door installations. Any Model A restoration place like Mac's will have these books. I also remeber that when R&C did the A sedan "Wingfoot" they also showed how to install the wood.

You can also get wood kits and just about anything else for a Model A from Mike's A Fordable In Georgia.
