    Hey Everyone!
I just joined the board and hopefully I can contribute a thing or two.
My Great Grandfather fueled my interest in rods and, since he was a mechanic his whole life, he passed on his knowledge to me until he passed in 1997.

I am 26, I live in Northern NJ with my hubby, and we spend most of our time working on our 1953 Plymouth.

    See you around.

Welcome to the HAMB from another N-NJ'ian! Question out of the blue here, that '53 Plymouth of yours, you didn't happen to buy that off from Jenny & Glen did you? Cool folks, just reminded me of their old ride. Anyway, welcome!

Jenny and Glen from Cresskill? If that's who you're talking about I didn't buy it off them. The Plymouth was bought from another guy in Jersey. Jennie had a Desoto back when she lived in CT so that may be the car you remember :)

Yup Jenny & Glen from Cresskill.. and that is right, it was a DeSoto! I don't even know why I thought it was a Plymouth, must be this head cold I have right now. Well welcome again and hope to meet you and your husband at one of the car shows in the area once this weather gets warmer.

The hubby and I are actually thinking of moving to Texas soon. My parents just bought a house in the DFW area. Anna, Texas to be exact.

I can see how you would get the Plymouth and Desoto confused. :) She hasn't driven that car in years! You must know them for quite awhile. I'm sure you'll see us around. We do the typical Whiskey on Saturday nights and the Wyckoff meetup on Wed. Keep an eye out!

I know it's sitting at her parents house in CT. It was in amazing condition but her father started leaving it outside when he started picking up new projects so I have no idea of the condition now. She may be willing to part with it, you never know. Anything in particular you need/want off the car? I have to ask her for sure what year she has. I don't want to guess. I know it's early 50's for sure.

It's nice to meet someone else with a Plymouth. I don't see too many around. Well, too many 50's models anyway.

Welcome. I have a 1950 Plymouth Deluxe Coupe, and they are few and far between. I have searched the web for hours and found only a couple. On this forum, though, I have seen a few. Cool to know that there are people that are interested in these cars.
