  2. Here is a pic of my Boss's 40' which has a nice flatty in it, and a few pics of my '40 panel. Mine will have a 348 Chev motor with lots of carbs, 4-speed, 57 Pontiac rear, w/ 2.5 drop Posies spring, Super Bell 4 inch drop I-beam up front, chrome reverse rims w/whitewalls, metalflake engine and scallops, and the spare tire well removed. This was a delivery truck in Boonton, NJ, and I have practically every part for this truck to put it back together. The paint on the hood appears to be original, and the only rust through is on the front floor , and two strips where the fenders meet the body on the back.

Here's the 40 coupe I bought just under a year ago.
It's in bits now, I'm rebuilding all the running gear, and hope to get the body back on in the next month or so. Hopefully back on the road this summer.
    Mart.

  14. Thanks Moots. I do kinda miss that one, but I have to admit it was a real chore to keep it looking that nice. You know me I like to drive 'em hard and put them away leaking:D

I just learned a very high profile personality just bought the car and it is on the west coast now. I have a feeling we havenn't seen that last of that beauty.

Such pretty cars. My only complaint about '40s is that there's almost nothing you can do to improve their appearance. Stance, tires, paint... you're done.

  22. Here's part of the fat fendered Ford fleet.

Maroon flathead coupe is my wife's. Blue coupe and red pickup are SBC powered. The #60 oval tracker is FE Ford powered (currently blown-up!). Ya' can see the nose of it in the rear shot of the pickup.

19, that is gorgeous! Would you mind telling me what mods you've made to the suspension to get that stance, and what size front drop axle you've got? Thanks.

Here's a bad picture of mine. Soon to have fog lights, artillery wheels with 6.50 16" WWW's, a Fulton visor (all which I have laying around) and some different skirts (which I haven't found yet)

Thanks. Front wishbones are not split. Still use stock sway bar. Tube shocks added in 1964. Magnum 4 in. dropped axle that is 3/4" narrower than stock axle for better fender/tire clearance.(Magnum also makes a stock width axle.) Magnum dropped steering arms. Posie reversed eye spring #2040. 5:60 x 15 Coker Classic 2 3/4"wide whites up front on stock drums with 15 x 5 1/2 early Ford truck rims.(Total rim width edge to edge is 6 1/2.) Front tire dia. is 25.88 in. On stock rear are BF Goodrich (from Coker) 7:60x15 with 3 3/8 wide whitewall. Rear tire dia. is 28.66 in. Rear rims are from SOLIDS with 4 in. back space and 3 in. front spacing for a total width of 7.
Rear spring is stock. Tranny is stock. This set up dropped the front end 4 5/8 inches. Chin pan ground clearance is now 4 3/8 inches.

  30. 1940 Fords? I thought most of the cars here would be 1940 PLYMOUTHS.
    hahahahaha

OK, here's my 1940, back in the early 1980's when I first ogt it on the road......
