My deuce tudor is steel, and I tend to be partial to steel for my build, but I say build what you want out of whatever you want. Hot rods have always been each individual's expression of their taste, ability or financial capacity. I'm building my deuce the way I want it and don't really care what anybody else thinks about it.

I hope everyone reads this whole post and realizes that there a lot of glass cars running around. As far as you purests and others (ill be nice) that think there is nothing like a steel (or real as a steel car) remember they make fords chevys mopars etc etc etc.. Why ?? Cause people want different shit. Im one .. Ive had real steel shit and sold it. Divorces and other things cause that. The most money i ever made off a car was selling a glass car. Anyway the guy that started this post wanted im sure to see how many people had glass cars and maybe what brand and thoughts about them etc etc. So why come in and make bull shit comments ??? I dont look at the steel projects and say WTF you could have had glass ??? This shit can go on forever and usually the thread gets closed because of the real steel guys talking shit. If you dont have anything nice or should i say worth reading about glass cars then go search the web and if you can find a site name thats all about steel cars and not used ,,,,,,,,,buy it and start your own board. To each his own... Remember you guys may be still finding cherry model a's but it cant last forever.

    Jusjunk is right!
I have a Wescott Phaeton Body. Bought it used at the NSRA swap in Columbus in 96. Paid $3250.00 for it and gosh what a deal. I think the price of a new one is up over $11,000 now. Came with stantions and windshield too. Can't wait to actually drive it.

  8. Hey man.. If you're in Ontario then check this place out:

    http://www.oddballkustoms.com/p_home.php

They might be able to help you out. The seem like cool peoples too. I see them at Billetproof Detroit every year.

I know how you feel too. It's hard to find good original metal without travel for days out west, or paying a fortune from some dillweed on Ebay for something worthless... I want a 33 Plymouth coupe myself, but... that may not happen :/

    Good luck!

For some reason I always like the 30-31's channeled, while the 28-29 always looks good hi-boy style. Too many models built that way as a kid I guess.

    Doesn't look like a 32 frame.

sorry...body only, i think he has a grill shell also

  13. I got it from Squeek in Bakersfield. He does the "Deuce" chassis and ships all over the place. He's pretty well known. He gets the body from Australia, and it comes channeled, OG hinges, drip rails, an cowl vent. For what you see in the picture is about 17-18G i think it was. I did a little trading, so i'm not positive. Lincoln brakes, Radirs/Cheaters, drilled chrome axle, windshield frame (show chrome from Limeworks) with glass, etc. Try and get all that with steel. And hey, don't get me wrong. I AM a fan of steel. But NOT for the fucking money they're getting. For what a good steel body would cost, i'll be DRIVING this thing DONE with tripower pontiac and metalflake paint. So, while you guys are working 3 jobs to proudly buy a steel body? That's me burning rubber on your lawn in this!

My '26 is a Wescotts body. I'd love to have steel and maybe at some point I will but I'm ok with a glass car.

At some point glass is gonna have to become traditional... I mean how long have glass cars been around? 40 years? 50?

  16. It's either a Deuce Customs or Rod Bods by Elvis. With the stock hinges I'd say Rod Bods by Elvis.

They both have websites and have US distributors.

Funny, I got a pm from an LA HAMBer about headers and he included a shot of the project in question. He said he'd never posted it on the board for fear of derision due to the glass body. Anyhow, the body was a Rod Bods by Elvis 32 3W coupe. I think he got it through Limeworks.
