i am getting a 37 lasalle 3 speed from friend of mine and have the chance to buy the whole car. currently i have the plan to run a 40 ford rear in my coupe(1930) but am wondering if anyone has or has heard of running the entire drive train from a lasalle in a rod? it would make it easier to do the close drive conversion, wouldnt have to do it. does anyone know what the bolt pattern is? thanks for in info in advance.

I've seen flathead Caddys and LaSalle trans in rods but I've never heard of anyone using a Cad rear-end. The conversion for a LaSalle trans to early Ford Torque tube is a pretty easy switch for a machine shop...we've done them in our shop. Makes a good combo.

Thats the way to go Justin, that setup dates the car perfectly and has been proven by many others. I think its one of the best trans's to run behind an early nailhead.

I am building a 346 sleeved back to a 322 with T700R tranny and 1950 caddy rear end narrowed 8"s from memory great ratio for a light rod and fitted F100 drum brakes.
    Not on the road yet.
