Manifold Fun or fun with men!

This is a late 1930's Factory Ford Aluminum manifold that we "modified". We used the Vern Tardel Y-Adapter (which we purchased from HAMB Alliance Vendor "The Hot Rod Company) and matched the base radius shape & ports to the stock manifold, then instead of bolting it on we tig welded it.
SO it is a different look, should work just as good if not better cuz of the port matching, polishing, etc. and it's something different, new and fun.
You could do this with any adapter and manifold combo, not just that flathead, the cost involved is minimal and the end result might be cool.
I give you "The Polish V"



I thought it would be a nice idea to share this with my fellow HAMBsters. Also this is my 1st attempt at posting a picture on the HAMB! Yeaaaah!

looks great. alittle more time with a dremel and sandblasting and it will look like a factory part.

 

Did I ever mention that Brett Lorenzo Favre, #4 on his jersey, NUMBER 1 in your hearts can throw a football a 1/4 mile underwater? Well he can, it is true.
I was planning on polishing the manifold when all is said and done, I recently found out that Joblot Automotive sells the aluminum manifold still, BOTH in 42-48 (59AB style) and 49-53 (8BA), so for less than 1/2 of what a Offy or Edlebrock costs you can make this little diddy! there is an even earlier Ford Factory manifold I believe like 34-36ish, the combos are many even with just flatheads. not to mention the different adapters out there. Vintage Speeds, that dude that offers the Reproduction BLC headlights offers some sort of Flatty adapter you folks get the idea.

Actually we call it "The Polish V", or a semi high rise manifold for people that don't want to spend a ton of ca$h.
After inspection the Southern Milwaukee Timing Association (S.M.T.A.) deemed it legal. We feel good about it, I'll keep you posted on the performance. Early tests indicate that speed records in will be falling left & right.

Dear Casey,
1st I must offer my condolences for the loss you incurred on Sunday, the ghost of Sweetness and the magical memories of The Super Bowl Shuffle were not enough to will your beloved Chicago Bears to victory and for this I celebrated with 5 sets (till failure) of one armed push ups and some masturbation (as you can understand).
As for the image you have discovered on the "Polish V", I was afraid someone would notice it, what you have identified as The Virgin Mary is actually the image of future Hall of Famer, 3 Time NFL MVP and Super Bowl WINNING Quarter Back Brett Lorenzo Favre.
