Well as my Father in law says: It's colder than a witch's *** in a klondike!!!!! So I headed for the garage!!!! I had to remake my shifter handle due to a slight mis-calculation. I like this version better with all the holes. Bandsaw, file, drill press, grinder, buffer = happiness. Still deciding if I should have the shifter grips anodized to match the steering wheel.
If it's on a digger, it doesn't count as billet. Besides, you prolly cut that from EXTRUDED aluminum, not BILLET aluminum! Looks awesome.
Paint them all faux woodgrain. With a nice coat of clear, you can't tell the difference. Killer work as always.
I think everyone should get over the stupid "billet" ****...If its hand made who gives a **** billet or not...Looks *****en HemiRambler
No just have the anadizing taken off the wheel to match the shifter. That is really neat what you guys made.
Looks more like a bad *** hand built part to me. If I saw a blister pack somewhere in the pic we might have to have a talk
screw the haters. . . THAT is a cool lookin piece. besides, i dont care if it was made of billet (as has been mentioned) . . . it dont get much more traditional than a hand whittled piece for your car, billet or not! VERY friggin cool man.
If it's not m***produced, you made it yourself, drill, mill, carve away. It's allways better to make it yourself. Looks great in aluminum color.
Call it aluminum plate or reat thick aluminum sheet. Looks good to me my friend but you know I'm just not a purest anything fast ( jelly bean cars excluded) looks good to me. Hey I just had a brain storm, if you tie it to a fishing line then fling it out in the water and reel it in wouldn't that make it "cast aluminum"? If you can't buy it it aint billet.
ROFL! Jebus beano you're killin me here. . . you sure that wasnt a brain FART? i thought the wind shifted outta the south about 10 minutes ago
If you felt the wind then my brains have converted to hemroids. Sometimes we are a little dumb when it comes to hotrod parts. If my Altered rolls out the door with an aluminum motor plate will that count as billet? And will anyone really care? That's racein' folks, they have been whittlein' bits out of aluminum as long as I've been alive and I don't doubt well before that.
