In conjunction with the 48th Annual Indianapolis World of Wheels car show ( Indianapolis State Fairgrounds February 9-11 2007). The Road Rockets are hosting their 2nd Annual "MOTORAMA 1962" club display. The display this year is in its own area and consists of 69 of the coolest hot rods and customs ever put in a single building. You dont want to miss this one!!
I told Tom but let me know if you guys need help setting up. I'm actually going to be in Indy this upcoming week.
For all you guys coming out to the fairgrounds this weekend the Road Rockets display will be in the back building where the swap meet area used to be held. Through the hard work of Tom Culbertson and a lot of other people this display gets better and better. You will hear some cool music, meet some even cooler guys and see some of the coolest traditional hot rods in this area. I know the weather kinda ****s right now in the Indy but come on out for the show. After all it IS inside where it will be warm and cozy. I hope to see some of my old friends and maybe have a chance to make some new ones. See 'ya all there.
Road Rocket show eh? OK, no if's or maybe's... I'm definitely coming now. Well... maybe just breathing hard. But I'll bet there.
Yup, I'm getting all my snow gear ready for the ride to the fair grounds. Pretty funny I'm actually preying on 20 degree weather as opposed to the 9 right now.
if the road rockets are throwing this shindig together you can bet it'll be great ! question. are there heaters inside that building?
Here's our official forecast for moving the cars to the world of wheels this Thursday... ...at least it's dry... maybe...
unclescooby as far as your bowling pins go have you contacted your local bowling alley ? cause i did for the 4th annual indy panel jam at the indy 500world of wheels and i recieved 20 of them from western bowl where my buddy 29sedanmans stepmom works at goodluck in your search your pinstripin buddy pullinlines
Loading them up hauling them out , got the dragster moved in the building this afternoon the others first thing in the morning.
I am wondering how the move in is going... Its cold in Indiana, just like everywhere else, but it was 3 this morning... hope the guys and cars are doing well? Can't wait to see the display on Sunday!
We are coming down this sat also. going to the show at the dome, then to the fairgrounds. Will the building that its in be marked on the outside? I didn't realize that Tom had this going, we didn't make it down for the show last yr.
I believe if you go in through the main entrance and keep going to the left through a couple other halls it will be in the last connected building. I am not sure what the fairgrounds calls the building. I heard it is going to be where the little swap meet they have tried to have in the past was. What is going on at the dome?
I guess nothing!!!!! I could have sworn the last time we went to the WOW it was at the dome!!! I must have it confused with the Hot Rod Trade show. see ya at the fairgrounds i guess
I know I've been refreshing all day to get see some car "****" to get me excited about going outside in this cold*** weather. I'm sick of waiting I'm heading down there in about an hour with my camera. Hopefully i'll be posting some pics later on tonight.
I just posted some.. http://s132.photobucket.com/albums/q27/tierod_bill/World%20Of%20Wheels/? Bubba's team was right, the best display yet..
the road rockets called a bunch of times last night. they were happy to initiate the wise brothers in to thier club. sounds like they are having a fun time !
The Road Rocket display was superb this year at the world of wheels and we had nearly 70 cars on hand. Here's the Bubba's Hot Rod Shop crew.
The Road Rocket display was the highlight of the show! It looked like a show from the past. The reality of the times returned when you had to walk through the tuner display to return to the main part of the show. Oh well, to each their own. Nice job!
